I know you are here because you are looking for something more or for better ways to improve your Mary Kay Business. If you are not a Mary Kay Consultant I am sure you too are looking for something more than what you have been doing that may not have worked for you this far.
Once you learn the facts, then you will be able to equip yourself and your team with information that will help build a solid rock Mary Kay Business. I am not here to rain on your parade and I will never do that but someone has to give you the hard truth and most likely your upline, your Director, Sr. Director, or your Nationals are not going to do that. Sometimes you will need someone from outside to tell you.
The sad truth is that you are doing everything your director, senior director or National is telling you to do. You are going to your weekly or monthly meetings and you have made a list of 100 people that you know.
You have been given a Script and you have called most of those people with the script, you signed a few friends and family and you are still chasing some. You have gone to seminars and retreats across the nation and have attended just about every local career conference or Mary Kay Universities.
Why then are you still spinning your wheels and nothing seems to be working? Why are you running a “non profit business” You know you can have it all in Mary Kay and so you are holding on but something is just not right.
The honest truth is that the Marketing Plan you are using of family and friends, warm-chatter and cold calls etc is failing you. You need a real business plan and a marketing strategy and a system in place.
You can go to all the meetings and seminars there are, but until you get this one simple truth you will never get to the top of your Mary Kay Career. The first thing you need to do is to stop using systems that worked 30 years ago and get yourself up to date with the market. In today’s age, if you are not utilizing the internet to market yourself you are missing out big time.
The first thing you need to do is Master how to market online. Now, I know there are a few people in the industry or in Mary Kay Cosmetics that have achieved great success using the traditional ways of building a network marketing business..
By now you know I am talking of going after friends, family, neighbors and everyone they can target in the shopping malls. That may have worked for a few people who probably started their business 10 plus years ago before the internet had really began to dominate everything we do.
You probably are thinking…” There is this lady in my Mary Kay Unit or area who just recently started their business a year ago and they are now at the top of their game”. I can be like them.
Let me just honestly tell you NO! These less than 1% who may have done it because they were well connected sometimes don’t even last. They are the same one who quit a year or few years later. You know the 30 days Wonders?
They do it so quick that they miss the lessons and they do not even know how to help their Mary Kay unit members because they think everyone should achieve success overnight like they did. I would say be careful of such people as mentors, very few of them last. These few are just but exceptions. Learn how to work your Mary kay business by the rules not by exceptions and you will have no regret.
I built a Mary Kay business myself for over 10 years and 8 out of the 10 I was a Director and I am very well familiar with the so called overnight success 30 days wonders. 99% of those 30 days Mary Kay DIQ’s are not recruiting “real business builders”.. its a bunch of $200 personal use consultants, a couple of business builders and a bunch of family and friends.
I am not in any way suggesting that you need 6 months or a year or two to achieve success, but if that is what it takes, then let it be as long as you learn the lessons and you build a strong foundation for your business.
Even with the internet, there is no overnight success but it does not take you a long time to succeed like it does with the traditional way of Mary Kay Marketing. What I love about online marketing and personal branding is that you can reach thousands of people all in one shot “killing two birds with one stone”.
